Stephen Piontek is Editor-in-Chief of the National Underwriter Life & Health newsweekly magazine. He joined the publication almost 27 years ago as a staff writer. In 1989, he was named Managing Editor. Five years later, he was promoted to Editor and shortly thereafter was named Editor-in-Chief.
During this time, Mr. Piontek also oversaw the development of NU’s online daily news service and three e-newsletters.
Mr. Piontek writes a weekly column, The Editor's Edge, which comments on industry trends and current events.
In the last year, Mr. Piontek has been the keynote speaker at the Group Underwriters Association of America’s fall meeting in San Diego, delivered a presentation at the Society of Insurance Research’s annual meeting in Charleston, South Carolina, and moderated a panel of CEOs at the Seventeenth Annual Executive Conference for the Life Insurance Industry in New York.
He lives in New Jersey with his wife and two cats.
